PrintAgent
PrintAgent is implemented as a server based service and allows to assign Type B addresses to any configurable printer in the network. Incoming messages may be automatically printed on standard office printers or on dedicated Telex matrix printers. The advantage of this product is, that it is no longer necessary for a user to periodically check a telex-inbox for arrived messages. This is especially useful in production environments, where a printer is used as an alerting device.
Other high value characteristics of the PrintAgent are:• The server-based agent may handle any number of mailboxes
- For each mailbox all or only messages from specified sender addresses may be selected for automatic printing
- A sophisticated scheduler allows to print messages only during specific periods, for instance during office hours but not on weekends
- Messages may be printed on different printers depending on the time of day or day of week
- Messages may be printed on multiple printers at the same time, or be re-routed to backup printers, if the primary printer is offline
- For printed messages the print time and the printer(s) used are logged
